ASIRT is seeking clear thinkers with a passion for justice to expand our diverse Board of Trustees and complement our existing range of abilities and experience. As a trustee you will take up a voluntary leadership role, using your skills and experience to help guide the organisation strategically and to make key decisions.
This is an opportunity to join a small but high-achieving migrant support charity which goes the extra mile for the people we work with and is not afraid to challenge the status quo. We provide free legal support, advice, and representation to undocumented or marginalised migrants in the West Midlands who are not eligible for Legal Aid. We work in a challenging and pressurised environment and pride ourselves on excellence and on putting the needs of our clients first. We are a not-for-profit, registered charity, and are registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).
We particularly welcome applications from people who have experienced the UK immigration system first-hand, and those who have previously used our services. We are also seeking board members with particular skills in finance, immigration law, and comms, though you do not have to have any of these attributes to apply.
Up to 4 posts are available. Minimum time commitment: approx. 8 hours per month.
Closing Date: 17th October 2021
